EPP Indigo Blooming Fabric Hexies: 1-inch Japanese Repro Fabrics, Papers (42pcs)
🌸 42 precut fabric hexagons from the 2024 Debbie Maddy colection, Indigo Blooming. These hexies are in different shades of indigo, cream, and pale tan with occassional hints of rust. These fabrics are reproductions of two antique types of Japanese fabric that are dyed with indigo-- katazome and kasuri (ikat).
🌸 These hexies have a measurement of 1.28 inches per side (1 inch finished) cut from this Debbie Maddy fabric collection. I used my Accucut Studio to die cut these hexies as well as 42 paper templates from acid-free cardstock.
🌸 The templates are a nice balance between sturdy and flexible. The result is a set of hexies and papers that were accurately cut, that will help you produce precise results.
🌸 You will receive 1 to 2 of each of the fabrics in this collection for a total of 42 hexies and 42 paper templates.
🌸 The fabrics in this collection are reproductions of antique Japanese fabrics collected by Debbie. In katazome, rice paste is pushed through finely detailed stencils as a resist. The fabric is then submerged in an indigo vat. In kasuri, the Japanese form of ikat, threads are bound in particular places, and then dyed in indigo. When the threads are later woven to create a fabric, a pattern emerges. The prints vary from medium light to dark indigo, as well as cream and light tan. They are a warmer indigo, and they would go well with any of the other Debbie Maddy fabrics I have in my shop, or with Kona snow hexies.
🌸 These hexies are intended for the sewist who has more ideas for quilting than time to finish them.
